Many parents are concerned when looking for safe baby toys for their babies. Because plenty of your baby's toys are going to end up in your babies mouth, it is important that you purchase non toxic baby toys and that the materials that are used in making these toys are safe and are not going to cause your baby any harm.
When choosing safe baby toys, always follow the manufacturers guidelines as to the age of your child. The toys that are not suitable for your child’s age may have parts that can easily be placed into your baby's mouth and they can choke on them. Make sure that the toy is unbreakable and has no sharp edges to it. The toy should be large enough as not to be put into the mouth and swallowed.
Safe baby toys should not have any small parts on them at all that can easily be pulled loose or parts that could become pinch points for very small fingers. Do not give your child any toys that have been made prior to 1978. These baby toys could contain lead which is harmful for your baby. If you are buying soft toys at fairs, markets etc. make sure that they have no loose parts or sharp edges before you give them to your baby.

A lot of today’s baby toys are made of hard plastic. These toys can be harmful to babies because of the PVC contained in the plastic. When a baby puts a toy in their mouth, they are being exposed to whatever the plastic is made of, including the PVC.
