Alright, so your child is really interested in trains and wants you to get a toy train set, but you are at a loss as to how to go about achieving such feat, so what do you do? Don’t worry, you aren’t alone, there are many parents who do not have a clue about toy trains too. The problem with purchasing toy trains is not that they are hard to find, but these are available in so many different designs and make that one would be left scratching one’s head when it comes to choosing one for one’s child!
Primarily, there are two types of model toy trains, those that are made from wood and electric toy trains. So which one should you get? Well it all depends on the age of the child for whom you are getting a toy train, if your child is between the age group of 2-8 years then you can consider purchasing a wooden toy train set. For children who are above six years of age, the electric toy train is recommended. In fact these are so intriguing and engaging that even adults and elders would have loads of fun playing with it!
However you can also ask your child whether he/she would prefer a wooden train set or an electric model toy train. Electric toy train sets are meant for older children and there are lots of options to choose from, such as G scale trains, N gauge trains, HO trains, etc. If you want a really large toy train set then you are probably better off buying G scale sets or Garden scale sets. Usually these are 8 inches tall and the length of these could be anything between 16 inches and 48 inches.
Meanwhile, the HO and the N scale trains are much smaller and are perfect for toddlers and younger children.
